No. 3 UConn Takes on ECU Saturday

STORRS, Conn. - The No. 3 UConn women's basketball team (17-1, 7-0 American) travels to ECU (3-15, 0-5) Saturday at 1 p.m. The teams will tip off on SNY/ESPN3 and the UConn IMG Sports Network (97-9 ESPN).
UConn is 11-0 all-time vs. ECU with all meetings coming as members of the American Athletic Conference.
The Huskies are coming off a 60-45 win over No. 23 Tennessee Thursday. The teams met for the first time in 13 seasons in the Basketball Hall of Fame Revival Series. UConn's freshmen showed up on the big stage as Aubrey Griffin posted 13 points, seven rebounds and five steals while Anna Makurat has five points, eight rebounds and four assists.
UConn will return to the XL Center next Monday to host the U.S. Women's National Team in an exhibition at 7 p.m. Former Huskies Sue Bird, Tina Charles, Katie Lou Samuelson, Breanna Stewart and Diana Taurasi will suit up for Team USA. UConn will host its 2009 and 2010 National Championship reunions at the exhibition.
The Huskies are currently in a stretch of five games in 12 games. UConn faced Tennessee Thursday, take on ECU Saturday, play USA in an exhibition Monday, host Cincinnati next Thursday and end the stretch against No. 4 Oregon on Feb. 3.
