2024 Field Hockey Full Signing Class Announced

STORRS, Conn. – Head coach Nancy Stevens and the UConn field hockey team announced the addition of six student-athletes to the freshman class and one male practice player this fall. The Huskies will welcome Ana Carney, Erin Daly, Liam Hawley, Anna Horan, Morgan Kauffman, Claire Van den Noort and Aiyi Young
Ana Carney arrives at UConn as a goalkeeper from Amity Regional High School in Woodbridge, Conn. She earned Second Team All-SCC honors in 2019. "I chose Uconn for its academics and sense of community. I am also honored to be a part of such a successful field hockey program," said Carney. She also lettered in basketball and lacrosse at Amity.
Daly enters the UConn program as an All-American out of Yorktown, N.Y. She was a two-time All-State, All-Section and All-Elite player at Lakeland High School. A three-time state champion, Daly earned Westchester Player of the Year honors. Daly also lettered is lacrosse and track in high school and played club soccer.

Anna Horan joins the UConn field hockey program from Limerick, Ireland. Horan has represented Ireland on the U18 and U21 National teams. She captained for Crescent College in 2019 and helped the team win the 2019 Kate Russell competition. "I have always wanted to go to University in American and after speaking with management and the people at UConn they made my decision very easy. I can't wait to play at a high level of hockey and I'm looking forward to the challenges it will bring," said Horan.
Claire van den Noort comes to UConn from the Netherlands where she played for the Dutch U16 National team. "For me it is a big challenge to go to America and study and play field hockey there. I think UConn is an amazing university where the level of field hockey is incredible high. My sister went to UConn and had an amazing time," said van den Noort.
Kaufmann arrives to UConn from Wilson West Lawn High School in West Lawn, Pa as a MAX Field Hockey Top 100 performer. During her time at Wilson West Lawn, Kaufmann is a proven winner, helping lead the team to a 79-14 record while notching 33 goals and 24 assists. She earned Pennsylvania First Team All-State honors twice (2017 & 2018) and was a three-time All-Berks County First Team recipient. Kaufman won five NIT Championships and two-time National Club Championship runner-up with her club team, X-Calibur.

Young joins the UConn family from Upper Perkiomen High School in Palm, Pa. Young is a two-time Pennsylvania First Team All-State performer while earning PAC 10 All-Conference honors all four years. Young helped lead Upper Perkiomen to its first PAC-10 championship since 2013 during her senior season. She finished her career totaling 57 goals and 52 assists.
Liam Hawley joins the Huskies as a male practice player from Ventura, Calif. Hawley was a member of the USA Junior National U21 team and has collected 11 USA Men's National team caps.

Stevens and her staff of Paul Caddy and Cheri Schulz are revered as some of the top recruiters nationally. Since Stevens came to Storrs in 1990, the Huskies have featured 33 NFHCA First Team All-Americans. Stevens, the all-time winningest coach in Division I with 700 career wins, has been named the NFHCA National Coach of the Year three times and has led UConn to three NCAA Championships.
