20 FH Student-Athletes Earn Big East All-Academic Honors

NEW YORK – 20 UConn field hockey players earned Big East All-Academic team status on Monday afternoon as announced by the Big East Conference.
The Huskies on the All-Academic Team include Tori Albright, Svea Boker, Natalie Brown, Anna Casinghino, Olivia Clarke, Jessica Dembrowski, Lindsay Dickinson, Abby Gooderham, Sophie Hamilton, Claire Jandewerth, Kourtney Kennedy, Jerri Lankford, Abby Lucas, Chiara Ma, Abril Martinez-Arraya, Frances Mirabile, Alena Smargiassi, Cheyenne Sprecher, Antonia Tiedtke and Maddy Wray
Nominations for the All-Academic Team are submitted by each of the BIG EAST's 10 member schools and affiliate institutions. To be eligible for the honor, a nominee must have competed in a BIG EAST-sponsored sport, attained a minimum grade-point average of 3.00 for the preceding academic year, and completed a minimum of two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters of academic work, with a total of 18 semester or 27 quarter credits, not including remedial courses.
Nearly 3,000 student-athletes were selected to the 2019-20 BIG EAST All-Academic Team.
