Men's Soccer Set for Saturday Showdown Against Creighton

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's soccer team (5-4-1, 1-3-1 BE) will play host to Creighton on Saturday night at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium in Storrs, Conn. Game time is set for 7 p.m. and the contest will be streamed live on FloSports.
Last Time Out
UConn returns to action after posting a 2-1 victory over Marquette on Wednesday night in Storrs. Ben Awashie and Moussa Wade both found the back of the net to give the Huskies a 2-0 lead. UConn held off a late charge by Marquette and won its first BIG EAST match of the season, 2-1. UConn out-shot the Golden Eagles 9-7 and Jahmali Waite made three stops for the Huskies.
Scouting the Blue Jays
Creighton enters Saturday's showdown with a 4-6-1 overall record, and a 1-4 mark in league action. One of the Blue Jays' four wins came at the expense of then No. 1 Indiana on September 3. Creighton also played No. 1 Georgetown tough, dropping a 2-1 decision to the Hoyas in Omaha. Most recently, Creighton defeated Villanova, 4-2, and out-shot the Wildcats 19-14.
Matchup History
UConn is 1-2 all-time against Creighton, but the Huskies got the best of the Blue Jays when it mattered most. Connecticut clinched its second NCAA National Championship in Charlotte, N.C. by defeating Creighton, 2-0, in the national championship game.
