Rowing Competes at Head of the Riverfront

HARTFORD, Conn. – The UConn women's rowing team competed in the first regatta of the 2021 campaign on Sunday morning. The Huskies had boats racing against several universities in the New England area.
The women's first varsity 8+ finished at a time of 16:36.78, while the second varsity 8+ finished with a time of 18:05.43.
"I'm very proud of our performance today," said head coach Jennifer Sanford. "We had some specific things we have been working on in practice that we wanted to execute in the race and we did that. Each boat rowed with heart. It was a positive, high energy day for our team. We recognize we have a lot of work to do and look forward to getting faster in practice in the upcoming weeks."
