Huskies Shutout Marquette, 3-0

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's soccer team (6-5-0, 2-2-0 BIG EAST) earned a dominant 3-0 win over Marquette (7-5-0, 3-2-0) Thursday evening at Morrone Stadium.
Jada Konte and Jaydah Bedoya each scored their third goals of the season. Joyce Ryder notched her first career goal.
In her first career start, MaryKate Ward made seven saves and earned the shutout.
Konte got on the board first at 9:21, taking a rebound from a Lucy Cappadona shot and scoring with her left foot.
Bedoya scored in the second half, striking a one timer from just outside the penalty area.
Ryder's goal came at 71:16 as she took a pass from Laci Lewis and found the back of the net as the ball grazed the goalkeeper's fingers.
UConn led 17-13 in shots vs. the Golden Eagles.
The Huskies are back on the road on Sunday at DePaul at 2 p.m.
