Huskies Fall to Georgetown

WASHINGTON D.C- The University of Connecticut men's soccer team would fall to top seed Georgetown 1-0 in the final regular season game.
UConn's defense started the match strong as they were able to hold Georgetown to one shot on goal through 20 minutes. UConn would rely on its defense in the first half, using the stops to switch the field and attack the Georgetown defense.Georgetown would eventually break the tie with four minutes left in the half as they score off a rebound after graduate student Jahmali Waite made a diving save on a shot attempt. UConn would head to the locker room down 1-0 with only two shots on goal.
UConn started out the second half strong as senior Adhan Tait would gain possession and dribble through multiple defenders before firing a shot that was saved by the Georgetown keeper.
UConn was unable to generate any scoring chances following their early attack, as Georgetown's defense would tighten up. Graduate student Jahmali Waite would finish with 6 saves on the day.
UConn would finish the 2021 season with a record of 7-7-2 overall and 2-6-2 in BIG EAST action.
