BSB Finalizes 2021 Schedule

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn baseball team has finalized its 2021 schedule that currently features 20 games at brand new Elliot Ballpark.
The Huskies are set to open their new home on March 10 against Hartford and return home to the BIG EAST with conference home series against Georgetown (April 9-11), Butler (April 30-May 2) and Seton Hall (May 20-22).
The UConn schedule currently features 61 games to best allow the Huskies to play a full 56-game schedule while navigating Covid.Â
A 28-game BIG EAST schedule will feature four game series with a single game on Friday and Sunday with a Saturday doubleheader sandwiched in between. As of this release, the doubleheaders will consist of a seven-inning and nine-inning ballgame.
The Huskies head to Creighton (April 16-18), Xavier (April 23-25), St. John's (May 7-9)Â and Villanova (May 14-16) for their BIG EAST road trips in 2021
The non-conference slate is filled with marquee matchups with the Huskies playing at three-game series at 2015 National Champion and No.5/16 ranked Virginia, two games against 2016 National Champion Coastal Carolina and a four-game series against four-time College World Series participant (2014, 16, '18, '19) and No. 2/3 ranked Texas Tech.
UConn will also square off against 2009 World Series participant Southern Mississippi in a three-game series in Hattiesburg.
New England foes: Boston College (2x), Bryant (2x), CCSU (1x), Hartford (1x), Northeastern (2x), Rhode Island (4x) and UMass (2x) all fit into the 2021 calendar.
 The non-conference includes 16 games against teams that finished in the top-100 of the RPI in the last completed season in 2019.
