Claire van den Noort Named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week

Dembrowski Earns Spot on Honor Roll
STORRS, Conn. - University of Connecticut field hockey standout Claire van den Noort has been selected as the BIG EAST Conference Freshman of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday.  Â
Van den Noort dished out two assists, both on penalty corner chances, during UConn's 4-0 victory over Providence. The assists marked the second and third of the season for the rookie. Van den Noort also anchored a UConn defense that shut out the Friars and only allowed the Friars to muster one shot on the afternoon. Â
Jessica Dembrowski scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner in Sunday's conference-opener. The two scores marked a single-game high for the senior.
The Huskies are back in action Sunday, March 7 when the squares off against the Friars again. Game time is set for 1 p.m. in Providence.                                 Â
