UConn Plays Seton Hall to a Draw

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn men's soccer team battled Seton Hall for a full 110 minutes, but the game ended in a 0-0 double-overtime tie as neither team was able to find the back of the net.
UConn nearly opened up the game scoring in the 13' after creating a pair of quality attempts on the counter. Nice passing created an opportunity for Okem Chime in the box, and Chime attempted to sneak the ball into the lower corner of the cage but his attempt was turned away. Ahdan Tait scooped up the rebound and fired a straight-line shot, but the Huskies were denied at the doorstep again and the score remained leveled at zero.
Seton Hall controlled the majority of the second half and tested Jahmali Waite with six shots throughout the frame. Waite proved to be up to the task, scooping up three of his four saves while swatting away the other three attempts he faced to keep the Pirates off the board.
Djimon Johnson notched the lone UConn attempt in overtime and nearly grabbed the win for Huskies, but his shot at 93:02 sailed just high of the crossbar after the Pirate netminder was able to get a finger on the ball. Waite turned away the only shot he faced in the period.
Neither team managed to find the golden goal in the second overtime and left the match with a 0-0 draw.
