Karlie Heistand Named to United States National Team

Will Compete With Team USA During FIH Hockey Pro League Action
Former UConn field hockey standout Karlie Heistand has earned a spot on the United States Women's National Team, which will resume 2020-21 FIH Hockey Pro League play on May 15 against Belgium.
Heistand is one of only 25 athletes to make the USWNT traveling roster.
Recently, Heistand spent three years on the U.S. Women's National Development Team and prior to that was a member of the U-19 and U-21 USWNT. The former Hamburg, Pa. native played for the Huskies from 2014-17 and was a part of two national championship teams and four final four teams.Â
During her senior season she was named a NFHCA Division I All-American and to the NCAA Division I Championship All-Tournament Team. Heistand is currently an assistant coach at Villanova.Â
In 2019, Heistand was named to the US Women's National Team traveling roster for the U.S. Women's National Development Squad's tour of The Netherlands.
Heistand graduated in May of 2018 from UConn with a degree in chemistry. She was a four-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team and NFHCA Division I National Academic Team.Â
