Rowing Concludes 2021 Season at CAA Championships

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. – UConn women's rowing closed the door on the 2021 season Sunday afternoon, racing in its first-ever Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Championship on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J.
UConn competed amongst a field that included Delaware, Eastern Michigan, Villanova, UC-San Diego, Drexel, and defending six-time champion Northeastern. The Huskies had boat entries in all four events, beginning at 10:20 a.m. with the Third Varsity Eight followed by the Varsity Four, Second Varsity Eight and concluding with the First Varsity Eight.
The Varsity Eight posted a time of 7:02.612 while the Second Varsity Eight finished in 7:24.489. The Third Varsity Eight crossed the finish line at 8:03.176 and the Varsity Four rounded out the UConn quartet of boats with a time of 8:40.241.
"I'm proud of the women for sticking together through challenging times this spring," said head coach Jennifer Sanford. "…I appreciate the effort they put into this season as a whole."
Additionally, senior Chloe Ludden was selected as a 2021 All-CAA honoree for her performance.
