Fudd Named to USA Basketball U19 World Cup Team; DeBerry Selected as Finalist

DENVER – Incoming UConn women's basketball freshman Azzi Fudd was named to the 2021 USA Basketball Women's U19 World Cup Team following three days of trials in Denver. Additionally, fellow incoming freshman Amari DeBerry was selected as one of five finalists for three remaining roster spots.
The 2021 FIBA U19 World Cup will be contested Aug. 7-19 in Debrecen, Hungary. The final 12-member team will be named prior to the departure for Europe, where it will continue training for the FIBA U19 World Cup.
The nine members of the team and the five finalists will attend training camp in July.
UConn women's basketball signees Amari DeBerry and Azzi Fudd have accepted invitations to attend the 2021 USA Basketball Women's U19 World Cup Team trials.
DeBerry was a member of the 2019 FIBA Americas U16 Championship gold medal winning team.
Fudd previously helped USA Basketball to gold medals at the 2017 FIBA Americas U16 Championship and the 2018 FIBA U17 World Cup.
DeBerry and Fudd will enroll at UConn in June.
