Annie Fiorvanti Named Deputy Athletic Director/SWA

STORRS, Conn. - Annie Fiorvanti, who has served as the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance Services at UConn since July of 2017, has been named Deputy Director of Athletics/Senior Woman Administrator, as announced by Director of Athletics David Benedict on Thursday.
"Annie has been a valued member of the department for over a decade," Benedict said. "She has earned this opportunity through her dedication and loyalty to the University of Connecticut and her commitment to the student-athlete. Annie's background as a former student-athlete combined with her work experience and commitment to the student-athlete experience, make her the perfect candidate to serve in this critical position for UConn Athletics."
Fiorvanti came to UConn in May 2011 as the Assistant Director of Compliance Services and was elevated to Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance Services in August 2013. She has served on numerous campus and conference committees, including the Mental Health & Wellness Committee, and the Administrative Policies Committee. Â
Additionally, Fiorvanti was named interim SWA during the 2020-21 academic year and served as the Division's liaison to the Office of Institutional Equity and the Title IX Office as well as representing UConn on the BIG EAST SWA Committee.

As the Associate Athletic Director for Compliance Services, Fiorvanti oversaw UConn's Office of Athletic Compliance, which is responsible for institutional compliance with NCAA and conference regulations. She also served as the Division's liaison with several university offices, including admissions, financial aid, the registrar's office, housing, dining, and international services.
Since 2017, Fiorvanti has been a member of Benedict's leadership team and the University's Compliance Committee.Â
Additionally, she served as a secondary sport administrator for women's soccer and men's and women's cross country/track & field.
She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Women Leaders in College Sports and is a 2014 graduate of their Institute for Administrative Advancement.
Prior to her time at UConn, she worked as the Director of Student-Athlete Services at Hofstra University in Hempstead, N.Y. for three years. Before that, she spent six years at Providence College in Providence, R.I. As an undergraduate at PC, Fiorvanti was a four-year member of the women's volleyball team, serving as team captain during her senior year.
After earning her bachelor's degree in elementary and special education, she worked as a graduate assistant in the athletics department while earning her master's degree in special education.

Fiorvanti currently resides in Wethersfield with her wife, Kasey.
