Field Hockey Ranked No. 6 in NFHCA Preseason Poll

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn field hockey team has been slotted sixth in the preseason Penn Monto/NFHCA National Coaches Poll, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
The Huskies will open their season this weekend (August 27-28) in Chicago with matchups against No. 4 Northwestern and No. 21 Miami (OH).
Other ranked opponents that that Huskies are slated to play this season include: No. 1 North Carolina, No. 7 Boston College, No. 9 Maryland, No. 10 Liberty, No. 13 Princeton, No. 14 Syracuse, No. 15 Rutgers, No. 17 Delaware, No. 18 Old Dominion and No. 19 Harvard.
UConn has won the last nine BIG EAST regular season and tournament championships and were picked as the preseason favorite in the league.
