Huskies 6th at UVA Invite

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The UConn women's cross country team ran at the Panorama Farms XC 23 Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia and turned in a strong performance in their final tune-up before the conference championship race in two weeks.
The Huskies took home a sixth place finish in the 18 team field, finishing with a total of 175 point and had their top-three runners all finish inside the top-30 runners on Saturday's 5K course.
Leading the way for the Huskies was grad student Randi Burr (Westerly, RI) who came home in 23rd place overall with a time of 17:23.1. Right on her heels was junior Jenna Zydanowicz (West Hartford, CT) who was 24th in the field with a time of 17:24.0. Rounding out UConn's top-three was sophomore Chloe Thomas (Dundas, Ontario) who finished 29th overall with a time of 17:31.6.
UConn senior Caroline Webb (Greenwich, CT) was 45th overall with a time of 17:45.1 and she was followed by junior Sophie Coughlin (Melbourne, Australia) who clocked in at 17:53.2 for 57th overall, sophomore Madison Reylea (Mayfield, NY) in 75th at 18:10.9 and junior Caroline Towle (Bedford, MA) who took 95th in 18:31.8.
The Huskies will now turn their focus to the 2022 BIG EAST Championship in two weeks, being held at the Mark Coogan Cross Country Course at Highland Park in Attleboro, MA on October 29. The Huskies ran their earlier this season when they competed in the Providence Friar Invitational.
