Philadelphia, PA – The UConn women's rowing team put together a great set of finishes at the Head of the Schuylkill Saturday including a 2nd place finish for the Varsity 8 boat.
The event, which features over 260 clubs, high schools, and colleges takes place on the Schuylkill River, the 'birthplace of American rowing'. An estimated crowd exceeding 20,000 cheered on teams both national and international.
Of the team's performance, Coach Jen Sanford said, "Our team had great performances across the board today. Â Each boat came off the water feeling like they executed their race plan successfully. Every race this fall has been confidence building, and our momentum is great. The team is trusting in the process and recognizing the value of hard work and great team chemistry. I'm excited to see how we do next weekend in our final race of the fall when we shift from head racing to 2k's."
Up Next  - the Huskies close Fall competition with a race in the NYRA Invitational in Ridgefield, NJ November 6.
