No. 5 UConn to Host No. 10 NC State in Hartford Sunday

STORRS, Conn. – The fifth-ranked UConn women's basketball team (2-0) plays its second straight top-10 matchup against No. 10 NC State (4-0) Sunday at 1 p.m. in the XL Center. The game will air on FS1 and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (97-9 ESPN).
Sunday's game is UConn's Bleed Blue game. Fans are encouraged to wear blue to the game. The Huskies will also host a Food Drive. Non-perishable foods will be collected at each XL Center entrance.
The Huskies picked up a top-five win with an 83-76 victory over No. 3 Texas last Monday. Sophomore guard Azzi Fudd led the Huskies with a career-high 32 points. She scored 22 points in the second half and 17 points in the fourth quarter. Â Junior guard Nika Mühl tied her career high with nine assists against the Longhorns and added three steals.
UConn is 7-2 all-time against NC State. The teams last met on March 28, 2022, in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight. The Huskies went on to win the instant classic in double overtime, 91-87, to advance to the team's 14th straight Final Four. Paige Bueckers scored 15 of her game-high 27 points in overtime. This is the teams' first meeting in Hartford since 2003.
NC State moved to 4-0 with a 96-48 win over Charlotte on Wednesday. This season, Diamond Johnson leads the Wolfpack with 12.5 points per game. Head coach Wes Moore is in his 10th season at NC State.
The Huskies are competing in a doubleheader with the UConn men's basketball program. The 25th-ranked men's team hosts Delaware at 5 p.m. in the XL Center.
