No. 8 UConn Travels to No. 21 Creighton Wednesday

STORRS, Conn. – The eighth-ranked UConn women's basketball team (9-2, 2-0 BIG EAST) travels to Omaha to face No. 21 Creighton (9-4, 2-1) Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. ET. The game will air on SNY and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (The River 105.9).
The Bluejays are the sixth ranked opponent the Huskies have faced so far this season. The BIG EAST Conference currently has three ranked teams: UConn, Creighton and No. 25 St. John's.
Six Huskies scored in double digits as UConn beat Seton Hall, 98-73, last Wednesday. Junior Aaliyah Edwards scored 20+ points for the third straight game as she notched 23 vs. the Pirates. Junior Nika Mühl (16 points, 11 assists) and graduate student Dorka Juhász (10 points, 11 rebounds) finished with double-doubles against Seton Hall. The Huskies out-rebounded the Pirates 44-26. UConn had 30 assists on 38 field goals.
UConn is 5-0 all-time vs. Creighton. The teams last met on Feb. 2, 2022, a 76-56 win for the Huskies. UConn trailed at halftime before rallying in the third quarter.Â
Creighton fell at No. 2 Stanford, 72-59, last Tuesday. Lauren Jensen scored 18 points vs. the Cardinal. This season, Jensen and Morgan Maly lead the Bluejays with 16.9 points per game each. Head coach Jim Flanery is in his 21st season at Creighton.
The Huskies return to Gampel Pavilion for the final game of 2022 on Saturday to host Marquette at 2 p.m.
