STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's tennis team faced their first BIG EAST opponent of the spring season and came away with a 6-1 win over Seton Hall at the Magic Lincer Tennis Club in Manchester.
The win evens the Huskies record at 3-3 in dual match play this spring. "This was a really good win over our first Big East opponent of the season," commented Director of Tennis Glenn Marshall. "We were excited to get back on the court and start our conference play today and the kids came ready and prepared in both singles and doubles."
The Huskies got things rolling with the doubles point, thanks to wins at No. 2 and No. 3. The tandem of sophomore Aleksandra Karamyshev (Ashton, Md.) and freshman Isabel Petri Bere (Lund, Sweden) posted a 6-3 win over Chloe Hamlin and Aina Plana Ventosa at No. 2.
