Husky Duo Named BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's tennis duo of senior Julieanne Bou (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) and sophomore Leonie Hoppe (Munich, Germany) were named the BIG EAST Doubles Team of the Week.

UConn's No. 1 doubles pairing of Bou and Hoppe helped the Huskies earn the doubles point in a 4-3 win over Florida Southern, defeating Laura Vetter/Mathilda Vidgren, 6-2. On the season, the duo is riding a three-match winning streak and have posted 12 wins, five coming at the No. 1 spot in dual match play.

The Huskies are headed back north after a week in Florida for spring break and have a pair of home matches on the slate next weekend on their outdoor courts in Storrs. UConn will host Army on Saturday, March 26 at 2 pm and a BIG EAST conference match with St. John's on Sunday, March 27th at noon.
