Kasey Savage Named BIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week

STORRS, Conn - UConn freshman Kasey Savage (Tolland, Conn.) was named the BIG EAST Field Athlete of the Week in the first outdoor awards handed out this spring. On the women's side, junior Patricia Mroczkowski (Berlin, Conn.) was named the Female Field Athlete of the week.

Savage was eighth in the high jump clearing a height of 1.97 meters, setting a PR. Savage came back in the triple jump and took sixth place with a leap of 14.58 meters, a personal best outdoors. He currently leads the BIG EAST in triple jump and lists second behind teammate Daniel Claxton in the high jump. His high jump and triple jump marks both rank 68^th nationally.

Mroczkowski got off to a strong start to the outdoor season at the UCF Black & Gold Invite, taking second place in the high jump at 1.72 meters. It currently leads the BIG EAST and lists 19^th nationally.
