Storrs, CT – The UConn softball team (18-12) lost to Boston University on Wednesday.
Elise Sokolsky got the start in the circle for the Huskies. She went three scoreless innings notching three strikeouts.
The first three innings were a stalemate. Each team threatened but could not manage to get a run on the board. The Terriers struck first putting a five spot on the scoreboard in the fourth inning.
The Huskies got on the board in the sixth on a single up the middle by Lexi Hastings scoring Rosie Garcia.
Marybeth Olson came in relief in the fourth. She would stop the bleeding, retiring 12 Terrier batters in a row. She finished with five punchouts.
The Huskies would not go down quietly. Erika Coreth hit a solo homer in the seventh to trim the lead to 5-2. But it wasn't enough to beat the Terriers.
UConn will be back in action this weekend as they travel to Butler for a three game series.
