Huskies Lose at Georgetown

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The UConn women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision on the road at BIG EAST foe Georgetown on Saturday. The Huskies are now 2-2 against conference teams with one league match-up left before the BIG EAST tournament later this month.
UConn dropped the doubles point but did pick up a win at No. 3 as juniors Caroline Cook (Naples, Fla.) and Denise Lai (Setauket, N.Y.) beat Avantika Willy and Agata Mikos, 6-2, their seventh win playing together this season.
In singles, sophomore Aleksandra Karamyshev (Ashton, Md.) was the lone winner for UConn as she picked-up her 16th singles win of the season. Karamyshev posted a three-set win at No. 3, beating McHaley Ho, 6-4, 2-6, and 6-3.
The Huskies close their weekend road trip on Sunday morning at BIG EAST foe Villanova at 11 am.
