STANFORD, CA. - The UConn baseball team (50-15) lost to No. 2 Stanford, 8-2, on Sunday afternoon to force a winner-take-all game three on Monday at a time to be determined.
Ben Huber delivered an RBI single in the first inning to trim a 2-0 deficit to one but that was the closest the Huskies would get.
A six-run second inning distanced the Cardinal but Cole Chudoba was a major bright spot out of the UConn pen.
The graduate student fired 5.2 innings of one-run ball and preserved the bullpen for a decisive game three.
Jack Sullivan fired 1.2 scoreless innings with zero walks and three strikeouts.
The Huskies will play for a spot in the College World Series on Monday.Â
