Coach Sanford Inducted Into Liverpool High School Hall Of Fame

STORRS, Conn. – UConn women's rowing head coach Jennifer Sanford has been inducted into the Liverpool High School Hall of Fame as the coach of the 1995 senior eight team that won the scholastic rowing association national championship.
Sanford attended and was a member of the rowing team before graduating in 1989. Following her collegiate career at Syracuse University, Sanford returned to her former town and became an elementary school teacher in the Liverpool schooling system. While being an elementary school teacher, Sanford returned to the sport of rowing, this time as a coach. Sanford would go on to coach the Liverpool rowing squad from 1994 through 1996 before being named the head coach at UConn in 1997.
Sanford had a successful career as the coach of Liverpool rowing, most notable winning the Scholastic Rowing Association National Championship, in her second season as head coach. Sanford was honored at the halftime of the Liverpool High School football game alongside four other women: Krista Karns, Becky Riley, Christy Yoest and Renee Doyon.
Coach Sanford enters her 26th season with the UConn Huskies this fall with their first action being October 2 at the Head of the Riverfront in Hartford Connecticut.
