WSOC Falls to No. 19 Georgetown, 1-0

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's soccer team (5-4-1, 1-2 BIG EAST) went toe-to-toe with No. 19 Georgetown on Thursday night at Morrone Stadium.
The Huskies nearly took a 1-0 lead halfway through the first half with Cara Jordan rocketing a shot off the hands of the Georgetown keeper.
Moments later the Hoyas capitalized with a goal from Claire Manning to take the 1-0 lead.
The game remained 1-0 going into the second half and freshman goalkeeper Adyson Duran had a career-night in goal with seven saves in net for the Huskies.Â
UConn continued to press to grab an equalizer with Jada Konte creating a few opportunities of her own. Konte's best chance came with just under 11 minutes remaining in regulation with a drive from outside the box that was parried over the goal.Â
The Huskies look to bounce back on Sunday with a road game in Milwaukee against the Marquette Golden Eagles at 2 p.m. ET.Â
