WLAX Announces 2024 Captains

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn Women's Lacrosse team announced their four 2024 captains on Wednesday, October 4th. The captains include senior defender #43 Raye Neil, senior midfielder #32 Morgan Carter, graduate student goalkeeper #15 Landyn White, and graduate student midfielder #25 Madelyn George. White and George are 2x captains as they were both named captain for the 2023 campaign.
#43 Raye Neil
Neil started in 18 games as a junior in 2023. She's recorded 12 ground balls and nine caused turnovers during the past season. Over the past three years, she's had 16 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers, while playing in 34 games for the Huskies.
#32 Morgan Carter
The senior midfielder started in all 19 games for the Huskies in 2023, while scoring 17 goals, five of which were on free position shots. Carter has scored 26 goals in her career over 36 games, while notching two assists.
#15 Landyn White
White, a two-time captain for the Huskies, was named USA Lacrosse Magazine All-American Honorable Mention, IL Women All-American Honorable Mention, IWLCA All-Northeast Region Second Team, BIG EAST All- Tournament Team, BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year for the second year in a row, and All-BIG EAST First Team in 2023. She notched a career-high 577. She's played in 60 games for the Huskies with a 47.7% save average over the past four years. White has won 39 games and caused 31 turnovers for UConn.
#25 Madelyn George
George, another two-time captain, was named All-BIG EAST First Team and started in 19 games as a senior in 2023. She notched a career-high nine draw controls in a single game. She's recorded 67 ground balls, caused 37 turnovers, recorded 183 draw controls, and started in 53 games with the Huskies over the past four years.
The Huskies will start their 2024 season in mid-February, with a schedule announcement to come.
