No. 2 UConn Travels to NC State Sunday

STORRS, Conn. – The No. 2 UConn women's basketball team (1-0) takes to the road for the first time this season as the Huskies travel to NC State (1-0) Sunday at 3 p.m. The game will air on ABC and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (97-9 ESPN).
Sunday's game is UConn's first of two games on ABC and first of five games on major broadcast networks this season.
Senior Aaliyah Edwards had 23 points and nine rebounds as the Huskies rolled to a 102-58 win over Dayton in UConn's season opener Wednesday. Freshman KK Arnold impressed in her UConn debut, scoring eight points and adding a game-high seven assists and four steals. Eight players had eight or more points and UConn had 38 bench points.
UConn is 8-2 all-time vs. NC State. The Huskies have won the last six matchups between the teams.
In Hartford last season, Azzi Fudd scored 32 points to lead UConn to a 91-69 win over then-No. 10 NC State. Aaliyah Edwards had 20 points and 12 rebounds in the win. Nika Mühl set the UConn single-game assist record with 15.
NC State started the season with an 84-43 win over Charlotte last Tuesday. Aziaha James led the Wolfpack with 26 points as five players scored in double digits. Head coach Wes Moore is in his 11th season at NC State. NC State was picked to finish eighth in the preseason ACC Blue Ribbon Panel poll.
The Huskies return to Gampel Pavilion to host No. 14 Maryland next Thursday at 6:30 p.m. for Jersey Night. Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite UConn jerseys or shirseys. Fewer than 500 tickets remain for the game – to purchase tickets, click HERE.
UConn is ranked second in the 2023 preseason Associated Press poll. The Huskies have been ranked in the AP poll for 565 consecutive weeks, which is the longest active streak in the nation. UConn's 565 weeks ranked ties Tennessee for the most consecutive weeks ranked in the AP poll by a women's basketball program.
