Jailya Ash Awarded BIG EAST Track Athlete of the Week

STORRS, Conn. - The BIG EAST Conference awarded junior Jailya Ash BIG EAST Track Athlete of the Week to start out the indoor season.
Ash competed in the 60-meter hurdles at the Husky Challenge for the first indoor meet of the season. In the event, Ash finished first with a personal best time of 8.27 seconds which is second all-time in school history. On top of that, Ash ran the best time in the conference and currently ranks fifth nationally.Â
The next meet for UConn is the Suffolk University Invite on Jan. 13.
