STORRS, Conn. – The 17th-ranked UConn women's basketball team (4-3) returns to Gampel Pavilion Wednesday evening to host Ball State (6-1) at 7 p.m. The game will air on SNY and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (97-9 WUCS).
Wednesday's game will serve as a reunion for the Mühl family as senior guard Nika Mühl faces off against her sister, Hana Mühl, a sophomore guard for the Cardinals. The Mühls' parents are traveling from Zagreb, Croatia, for the game.
To celebrate UConn's international student-athletes, Wednesday is Around the World in 4 Quarters. UConn's roster currently features four foreign players: Mühl (Croatia), Aaliyah Edwards (Canada), Inês Bettencourt (Portugal) and Jana El Alfy (Egypt).
The Huskies are partnering with Lewis Business Center and Toys for Tots for a toy drive Wednesday. Fans can bring a new toy to collection points at each entrance of Gampel from 5:15-7:15 p.m.
UConn is 1-1 all-time vs. Ball State. This is the teams' first meeting since Nov. 30, 2001.
Ball State picked up a 71-64 win at Saint Louis on Sunday. This season, Madelyn Bischoff leads the Cardinals with 13.0 points per game. Head coach Brady Sallee is in his 12th season at Ball State.
