No. 6 Huskies to Host Creighton Wednesday

STORRS, Conn. – The sixth-ranked UConn women's basketball team (22-4, 14-1 BIG EAST) returns to Gampel Pavilion to host Creighton (18-6, 12-4) on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The game will air on SNY and the UConn Sports Network (97-9 ESPN).
To celebrate Black History Month and in collaboration with the BIG EAST Conference, Wednesday will be UConn's Black Fives game. The conference has partnered with the Black Fives Foundation, a nonprofit public charity whose mission is to research, preserve, showcase, teach, and honor the pre-NBA history of African Americans in basketball.
UConn women's basketball represents the Hartford Tigerettes to honor the Black Fives.
Wednesday is also 3.0 Night. All UConn student-athletes who earned a 3.0 grade-point average or higher during the Fall 2022 semester will be honored at halftime.
UConn beat Georgetown, 67-59, last Saturday in Washington, D.C. Graduate student Dorka Juhász had 18 points and 15 rebounds while redshirt junior Aubrey Griffin had 18 points. The Huskies outrebounded the Hoyas 43-23. UConn trailed 17-13 at the end of the first quarter but outscored Georgetown 37-19 in the next two quarters.
UConn is 6-0 all-time vs. Creighton. The teams last faced off on Dec. 28, 2022, a 72-47 win for the Huskies. Junior Aaliyah Edwards led UConn with 23 points and 20 rebounds while graduate student Dorka Juhász had 22 and 18.
Creighton has won six straight games, most recently a 73-53 victory over Xavier last Sunday. Lauren Jensen led the Bluejays with 15 points in the game. This season, Jensen leads Creighton with 16.3 points per game while Morgan Maly is averaging 15.8. Head coach Jim Flanery is in his 21st season at Creighton.
