No. 4 Huskies Travel to DePaul Saturday

STORRS, Conn. – The fourth-ranked UConn women's basketball team (24-5, 16-2 BIG EAST) plays its final road game of the regular season at DePaul (15-14, 8-10) Saturday at 2 p.m. ET. The game will air on FOX and the UConn Sports Network (The River 105.9).
The Huskies lost 69-64 to St. John's last Wednesday in the XL Center. Graduate student Lou Lopez Sénéchal led UConn with 18 points in the game while junior Aaliyah Edwards had 14 points and 10 rebounds. UConn fell behind 21-15 after the first 10 minutes. The Huskies used a 13-0 run in the third quarter to take the lead but were unable to maintain the advantage.
UConn is 22-1 all-time vs. DePaul, including a 22-0 record under head coach Geno Auriemma. The Huskies beat the Blue Demons, 94-51, in Gampel Pavilion on Jan. 23. Junior Aaliyah Edwards had 23 points and 10 rebounds in the game while graduate student Lou Lopez Sénéchal scored 20 points.
DePaul narrowly fell to No. 15 Villanova, 67-64, on Tuesday. This season, Aneesah Morrow leads DePaul with 25.7 points and 12.3 rebounds per game. Nationally she ranks fourth in points and fifth in rebounds per game. Head coach Doug Bruno is in his 37th season at DePaul.
With a win Saturday, the Huskies would clinch at least a share of the 2022-23 BIG EAST Regular Season Championship.
UConn will play its regular season finale on Monday against Xavier at 7 p.m. The Huskies will honor Lou Lopez Sénéchal and Dorka Juhász pregame for Senior Night. Fans should plan on being in their seats at 6:30 p.m. for the Senior Night ceremony.
