Huskies Set to Face Army

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team is set to face Army in West Point, NY on Friday.
Entering the matchup, UConn won its second match in a row at its home indoor courts at Magic Lincer Tennis Club in Manchester, CT. The Huskies won 6-1 last Saturday and they now stand at 2-1 overall to start the 2023 season.
Last time out, UConn began with an aggressive and efficient style of tennis earning the doubles point from first doubles pair, Olivia Wright, and Maria Constantinou, and second doubles pair, Aleksandra Karamyshev, and Isabel Petri Bere. Then, in singles play Cameron Didion would clinch the match at 4-0 with a blazing 6-1, 6-1 score. Also, highlighting the day was Isabel Petri Bere, who won in doubles 6-0 and then put up a 6-0, 6-0 score in fourth singles.
Scouting the Black Knights
Heading into the matchup, Army is 6-4 overall in the 2022-23 season. The Black Knights look to extend a four-game win streak after a 4-3 win against Stony Brook last Sunday. Vennmukiil Mathivanan won both her sets in singles, helping Army pull off the clinched team point.
First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. EST on Friday.
