Top 20 Finishes For Nelson, Dallahan At BIG EAST Championship

HARDEEVILLE, S.C. – UConn grad student Jared Nelson and junior Tommy Dallahan each recorded a Top 20 finish as the BIG EAST Men's Golf Championship wrapped up Sunday at River Pointe Golf and Country Club.
Nelson (Rutland, Vt.) shot a 5-over, 71-71-79=221, to finish 14th in the 50-player field, his eighth Top 20 finish of the season and the 25th of his college career. The two rounds under par hikes his career total to 57 in that category.
Dallahan (Simsbury, Conn.) also finished in the 14th place tie with his 5-over, 72-72-77=221. He has three Top 20 finishes this season, and 11 in his career, plus 27 career rounds of par-or-better.
Also for the Huskies, freshman Colin Spencer (Mashpee, Mass.) finished in 25th place, his second-best finish of the season, with a 9-over, 74-72-79=225, which includes his fourth round of par-or-better.
Junior Jimmy Paradise (Tampa, Fla.) finished 36th, with a 13-over, 76-72-81=229, which included his 25th round of par-or-better.
Sophomore Trevor Lopez (Winchester, Mass.) finished 43rd in the tourney with an 18-over, 78-75-81=234.
UConn finished ninth in the tourney with an aggregate 293-287-316=896. Marquette (873) won the BIG EAST Championship, earning the automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
