UConn's Marquez Bembry Earns Invite to Miami Dolphins Minicamp

STORRS, Conn. - UConn linebacker Marquez Bembry (Stone Mountain, Ga.) will join his six teammates among the NFL rookies competing for a roster spot in the coming weeks after earning an invitation to take part in the Miami Dolphins rookie minicamp.

Bembry transferred to UConn for his final season of eligibility this past fall, playing in 12 total games for the Huskies. In the 12 games, Bembry registered three solo tackles and eight assisted tackles for 11 total tackles. Bembry transferred in from the University of Kentucky where as a junior he played in all 11 games for the Wildcats, finishing with 27 total tackles and a career high 10 tackles in one game.

He joins Robert Burns (Chicago Bears), Jake Guidone (Baltimore Ravens) and Brandon Bouyer-Randle (Tampa Bay Buccaneers), who signed NFL contracts as undrafted free agents, and Ian Swenson (NY Jets), Tre Wortham (Chicago Bears) and Tommy Zozus (Jacksonville Jaguars) have received invites to NFL rookie mini camps.
