Goode, Dallahan Advance In Connecticut Amateur

DARIEN, Conn. – UConn golfers Connor Goode and Tommy Dallahan survived the cut on the final day of stroke-play qualifying at the 121st Connecticut State Amateur on Tuesday, and both will move on to the match play portion of the tourney.
The tournament began with 120 participants on Monday morning, which was cut to the top 32 players after Tuesday's round.
Goode (Glastonbury, Conn.), a rising sophomore at UConn who was on top of the leaderboard after the first round, shot a 6-over 77 on Tuesday and his two-day total of 3-over, 68-77=145 put him in a fourth-place tie following Round 2.
Dallahan (Simsbury, Conn.), a rising senior, finished in a tie for 13th place after shooting a 9-over, 76-75=151.
The match play Round of 32 will be played Wednesday morning, with Goode (Glastonbury Hills Country Club) facing Robby Rosati, out of Great River Country Club. Dallahan (Hartford Golf Club) will meet Will Gregware, out of Farmington Woods.
The 16 winners will move on to the round of 16, to be played on Wednesday afternoon.
The tourney quarterfinals and semifinals are set for Thursday morning and afternoon, respectively, with the 36-hole championship to take place on Friday.
