Huskies Announce 2023 Slate

STORRS, Conn. – Head coach Chris Gbandi and the UConn men's soccer team released their 2023 schedule on Thursday afternoon. The Huskies schedule features 17 games, including eleven home games at Ray Reid Field at Joseph J. Morrone Stadium.
The Huskies have two exhibitions scheduled before the official start of the season when they travel to New Hampshire on Saturday, August 12 and host Rhode Island on Saturday, August 19.
UConn will kick off the season at UNC Charlotte on Thursday, August 24. The home opener at Morrone Stadium is set for Sunday, August 27 against Holy Cross at 7:00pm.
The Huskies will play a total of nine out of conference matches, with six games coming before they begin their BIG EAST conference slate in mid-September. With the new addition of the Akron Zips to the conference in men's soccer, UConn will now be in the East Division of the conference along with Georgetown, Providence, St. John's, Seton Hall, and Villanova. The Huskies will play all the teams in their division including three teams in the Midwest Division in Marquette, Creighton, and Xavier.
UConn will begin their BIG EAST schedule at home against St. John's on Friday, September 15 at 7:00pm. The Huskies will also host conference foes, Villanova (Friday, September 29), Marquette (Saturday, October 14), and Xavier (Saturday, October 28) this season.
Following the conference opener, the Huskies will host Central Connecticut for a non-conference bout on Tuesday, September 19 at 7:00pm.
UConn will travel to Seton Hall on Saturday, September 23 for the first of four away BIG EAST matches. The Huskies also travel to Georgetown (Saturday, October 7), Providence (Wednesday, October 18), and Creighton (Saturday, October 21).
The Huskies will have one final non-conference match on Tuesday, October 10 vs. Assumption.
The first round of the BIG EAST Championship will be played on Saturday, November 4. The conference semifinal (November 9) and final (November 12) will be played the following week at the Maryland SoccerPlex.
