STORRS, Conn. – Huskies add two right handed pitchers in Hallie Siems and Sydnee Koosh announced by head coach Laura Valentino on Thursday afternoon. "UConn Softball is thrilled to welcome Hallie and Sydnee to our pitching staff and family.", said Valentino.
Siems joins the Huskies after spending the first three years of her collegiate career at the University of Memphis where she made 89 appearances, pitching 289 innings, and tallying 206 strikeouts. "Hallie brings experience and poise to the mound, and I am looking forward to seeing her love for the game shine in her last year of college softball", said Valentino. Last season, Siems led the Tigers pitching staff with 91 strikeouts in 22 games started, with 11 complete games in the circle. "I am confident Hallie will leave a mark on UConn Softball in her single year as a Husky.", Valentino concluded.
Koosh comes to UConn from Robert Morris University where she spent one year with the Colonials. "I am excited to see Sydnee's drive and competitiveness flourish here at UConn.", said Valentino. Koosh played travel ball for the Ohio Wolfpack and Outlaws where she threw five no-hitters, leading her county in ERA and strikeouts in 2022. In 2021, she earned All-Federal League and All-Northeast Ohio plaudits after tallying 244 strikeouts in 170 innings to go along with a 1.89 earned run average. Valentino continued stating, "Sydnee's fire will impact our pitching staff and will be an integral part of UConn Softball winning a championship."
