CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The UConn softball team earned their seventh consecutive win on Tuesday afternoon, defeating the Boston College Eagles, 6-5 at Harrington Athletics Village.
Redshirt-junior Sydnee Koosh made her eighth start of the season in the circle for the Huskies. Koosh went 6.0 innings giving up three earned runs on ten hits, adding five strikeouts.
Boston College opened the scoring in the bottom of the 2nd inning with three runs to take a 3-0 lead.
Koosh preserved the lead for the Huskies, tossing four straight scoreless innings after the 2nd inning.
UConn's offense responded with a two-out rally in the top of the 3rd inning, scoring five runs off two home runs, giving the Huskies a 5-3 lead. Savannah Ring continued her hot hitting at the plate with her third homer of the season, a two-run shot to right center field, extending her hit streak to 12 straight games. Later in the inning, Kaitlyn Breslin hit her seventh home run of the season, a three-run shot to center field, giving UConn their first lead of the game.
Caylee De Meo extended the Huskies lead in the top of the 4th inning with a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Emma Willers from third base, making it 6-3.
Boston College did not go quietly, rallying for two runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to make it a one-run game at 6-5.
Graduate Jessica Walter came on in relief for Koosh in the 7th inning to close out the final three outs. Walter delivered a clutch performance stranding the tying run in scoring position to earn her sixth save of the season.

- Savannah Ring hit her third home run of the season, extending her hit streak to 12 consecutive games. She recorded her fifth multi-RBI game.
- Kaitlyn Breslin hit her seventh home run of the season, recording her team-leading 11th multi-RBI game.
