FH Announces Incoming 2023 Class

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn Field Hockey announced the incoming class of student-athletes for the 2023 season on Monday, ahead of the players returning to campus for pre-season in early August. The diverse group includes two graduate transfer students and four incoming freshmen, hailing from both the United States and internationally.
Meet the Incoming Class
Belle Bressler
Belle is a graduate transfer midfielder from the University of Maryland. She made five starts during the 2022 season and saw action in 23 games for the Terrapins. Belle had three goals and six assists last season. She will be joining her younger sister, Julia Bressler, on the pitch this season for the Huskies. When asked about joining the program, Belle said, "I am very excited about getting the chance to join a new program that is high-level and wants to win championships! I can't wait to be coached by this coaching staff and meet new people."
Julianna Kratz
Julianna is a graduate transfer attacker from Fairfield University. She made 11 starts during the 2022 season and saw action in 16 games for the Stags. Julianna scored seven goals, had two assists, and tallied 16 points last season.
Sanne Stout
Sanne is an incoming 2027 versatile player, with skills in both the midfield and the defense. She is from the Netherlands, where she played for HC Tilburg U18-1. With her team, she won the indoor Southern Netherlands Championship. Sanne was also selected to play in two international games against Belgium and Austria. Sanne says, "This new chapter for me will be the perfect combination between the sport that I love and to study at such a great university. It is even in the United States which is very exciting for me."
Toni di Racca
Antonia (Toni) is an incoming midfielder freshman from Germany where she plays with HTHC Hamburg, a German professional sports club best known for field hockey. "I'm really looking forward to all the girls in my team and to all the experiences with my new team on and off the court," she says about joining the UConn Field Hockey team.
Emma Himmler
Emma is an incoming freshman from Mannheim, Germany. She is a leading scorer for her club team. Emma is "looking forward to meeting a lot of new people and having a lot of fun. I also want to develop myself further and gain experience. I think it will be a great time!"
Olivia Donahue
Olivia hails from the Pingree School in Massachusetts as an incoming freshman for the Huskies. She was named to the 2021 NFHCA Academic Squad, NEPSAC C All-Star, Salem News All-Star, and MAX Field Hockey New England Region Preseason Player to Watch lists. When asked about UConn, Olivia said, "I'm most excited to be playing with such high caliber players, on a team that has proven itself to continuously compete with the best teams in the country. Additionally, I'm excited to elevate my own play to the next level, with the help from an awesome coaching staff. I'm truly so excited to start a new chapter at UConn, and cannot wait for all the opportunities that come alongside this new journey!"
The Huskies open their season with a 1:00pm game against St. Joseph's in Pennsylvania on August 25th. You can catch them for their first home game against Rutgers on Friday, September 1st at 4:00pm on Nancy Stevens Field in Storrs, CT.
