UConn to Face Toronto Metropolitan in Edwards’ Homecoming Game

STORRS, Conn. – The UConn women's basketball team will travel north to Canada to face Toronto Metropolitan University on Wednesday, Dec. 20, for senior Aaliyah Edwards' homecoming game.
Edwards is a native of Kingston, Ontario, which is approximately 164 miles from Toronto. She has been a member of Canada Basketball since 2017. Edwards has represented Canada with the senior national team since 2019, including at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, 2022 GLOBL JAM and 2023 FIBA AmeriCup.
Edwards had a breakout junior season and was named the BIG EAST Most Improved Player, All-BIG EAST First Team, the BIG EAST Tournament's Most Outstanding Player and WBCA All-Region.
The game, which will be the first meeting between the Huskies and the Bold, will be played at Mattamy Athletic Centre.
TMU competes in the Ontario University Athletics conference, which is a member of U Sports, the national governing body of collegiate sports in Canada. Toronto Met is coached by Carly Clarke, who is an assistant coach for the Canadian National Team. The Bold went 15-9 in 2022-23 after going undefeated in 2021-22.
UConn will have three homecoming games on its schedule this season. The Huskies travel to Minneapolis on Nov. 19 to face Minnesota for Paige Bueckers, a native of Hopkins, Minn. UConn is traveling to Zagreb, Croatia, home of Nika Mühl, this month and will host Ball State, where Mühl's sister plays, on Dec. 6.
