WSOC Looks To Keep It Rolling at Yale

STORRS, Conn. - The UConn women's soccer team (3-1-1) heads to New Haven to take on the Yale Bulldogs on Sunday, September 10 at 5 p.m. on ESPN+.
The Huskies are off to its best five-match start since going 4-1 to begin the 2016 NCAA Tournament season.
UConn has secured three straight shutouts and are coming off back-to-back wins for the first time this season.
Chioma Okafor scored a pair of goals in the last match against Marist and the sophomore forward leads the team with three goals on the season. The Huskies offense totaled a season-high five goals against the Red Foxes.Â
The defense has been a weapon for the Huskies this season with four shutouts in the five matches played thus far.Â
The UConn offense is tied for the BIG EAST lead with 99 shots this season and rank second with 44 corner kicks earned this season.Â
Yale is also off to a 3-1-1 start this season with victories against UMass, Seattle and most recently against Seton Hall this past Thursday.Â
Three Bulldogs have scored a pair of goals this season and the defense has allowed six goals in five matches.
Graduate student Giovanna Dionicio makes her return to Yale after playing 24 career games for the Bulldogs.Â
