Huskies Take on Fairfield Wednesday at Home

STORRS, Conn. - The University of Connecticut women's tennis team is set for Fairfield for the second match of 2024 and the second home match in Manchester, Conn., at Magic Lincer Tennis Club.
The Huskies are 1-0 overall to begin the early part of the season. Last time out, UConn took down Merrimack on Saturday, Jan. 27 in a shutout by a final score of 7-0. Highlighting the day were the freshmen as Victoria Matos, Caroline Hinshaw, and Isabella Asenov all won a commanding straight set victory in the four through six singles positions. Also, in doubles junior Isabel Petri Bere and Hinshaw paired up to help the Huskies take the doubles point.
Scouting Fairfield
Entering the matchup, the Stags are yet to play a match in 2024 after their matchup against St. John's was postponed. Last season, Fairfield finished with a 10-9 overall record. This season, leading the way for the Stags in singles is junior Katarina Plumtree with a 9-5 dual record in the 2023 season while also securing a 7-3 record at the fourth singles position.
UConn faced Fairfield last season at home winning by a score of 6-1. The Huskies are 8-0 all-time against the Stags.
