» The UConn Huskies will open the New Year with a road trip up to Amherst Massachusetts to take on the #13 Massachusetts.
» The Huskies opened the second half of the season with a 4-2 victory over Harvard on New Years Eve. The Jake's helped carry UConn to victory on New Years Eve as freshman Jake Richard, and sophomore Jake Black and Jake Percival combined for 3 goals.
» UConn welcomes back one of their top scorers in Matthew Wood as Team Canada was knocked out of play by Czechia at the World Juniors. Wood finished the tournament with two goals and two assists in 5 games.
» Wood is the 6th Husky under Head Coach Mike Cavanaugh to play in the prestigious tournament, and the first to play for Team Canada.
» This will be the first of three matchups this season between the Huskies and Minutemen. Last season UConn went 2-0 vs. Massachusetts.
» UConn's penalty kill continues to impress, ranking in the top 10 in the NCAA with an 86.5% penalty kill » With sophomore Matthew Wood out of the lineup vs. Harvard, UConn found its offense elsewhere. Three underclassmen scored a goal and Junior Chase Bradley sealed the win with an empty net goal. The Huskies underclassmen have continued to produce as 7 of the 15 goal scorers this year for UConn is either freshman or sophomores.
» While captain Hudson Schandor hasn't consistently found the back of the net, the senior has made an impact in other areas. Schandor currently leads the team with 10 assists and sits second in total points with 11 and has won 52% of his faceoffs.
