No. 12 Huskies Take on Georgetown Sunday

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The 12th-ranked UConn women's basketball team (11-3, 3-0 BIG EAST) faces Georgetown (12-2, 2-1) Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in the nation's capital. The game will air on SNY and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield (97-9 WUCS) from the Entertainment and Sports Arena.
The Huskies notched a dominating 94-50 win over No. 21 Creighton on Wednesday. Redshirt junior Paige Bueckers continued to be efficient, scoring 24 points on 8-of-12 shooting and going 4-of-5 from three. Bueckers also had five rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Senior Aaliyah Edwards had her sixth double-double in the last seven games, notching 16 points and 11 rebounds vs. the Bluejays.
UConn started the game hot, shooting 78.6% in the first quarter. The Huskies finished the game with a 53.3 field goal shooting percentage while holding Creighton to 25% shooting for the game.
UConn is 52-6 all-time vs. Georgetown. The Huskies have won the last 35 meetings between the teams. UConn and Georgetown faced off three times last season. Edwards averaged 16.3 points and 10.3 rebounds per game vs. the Hoyas last season.
Georgetown beat Butler, 60-55, Wednesday evening. This season, Kelsey Ransom leads the Hoyas with 15.4 points per game. Three Hoyas are averaging 6+ rebounds per game. Georgetown's interim head coach is Darnell Haney.
