No. 15 Huskies Travel to Xavier Wednesday

STORRS, Conn. – The No. 15 UConn women's basketball (20-5, 12-0 BIG EAST) travels to Xavier (1-20, 0-12) Wednesday at 7 p.m. The game will air on SNY and the UConn Sports Network from Learfield.
This Friday is Senior Night in Gampel Pavilion vs. Georgetown! The Huskies will honor Paige Bueckers, Aaliyah Edwards, Aubrey Griffin and Nika Mühl in a postgame ceremony.
Bueckers and Edwards were selected to the Naismith Trophy Women's Player of the Year Midseason Team on Tuesday. Bueckers leads UConn with 20.0 points per game this season. She is also the Huskies' leader in steals (56) and blocks (28) and ranks second in assists (95). Edwards is averaging a career-high 17.8 points per game while adding a team-high 9.0 rebounds per game and a 60.3 field goal percentage.
The Huskies fell at No. 1 South Carolina, 83-65, last Sunday. Edwards and Bueckers each had 20 points while Edwards also had 12 rebounds.
UConn is 7-0 all-time vs. Xavier. This is the only meeting between the teams this season as the BIG EAST moved to 18 conference games.
Xavier fell, 86-62, at Seton Hall last Saturday. The Musketeers' only win of the season came on Dec. 15 vs. SIUE. This season, Mackayla Scarlett leads Xavier with 14.7 points per game. Head coach Billi Chambers is in her first season at Xavier.
