Huskies Set for Clash at US Lacrosse Facility

SPARKS, Md. -Â The No.24 UConn women's lacrosse team is set for a matchup with No.3 James Madison at the US Lacrosse Facility in Sparks, Md. on Saturday, February 17th. The Dukes are the designated home team for the neutral site contest with opening draw at 12:00pm EST.
UConn is coming off a loss in their first game of the season to the Fairfield University Stags, while JMU is undefeated after victories over North Carolina and Virginia Tech. UConn and JMU clashed last season, also at the US Lacrosse Facility, with the game ending in a win for the Dukes. The Huskies are 2-8 all-time against JMU, winning in 2014 and 2016 at home in Storrs, Conn.
Rayea Davis and Susan Lafountain led the charge on offense for the Huskies on Wednesday with four goals apiece. Scoring was rounded out by grad student, Kate Shaffer, who notched one goal in the loss. Veteran goalkeeper, Landyn White, had 13 saves and solidified a program-record career saves with 611.
Isabella Peterson, will be the one to watch out for on the field tomorrow. Peterson led the charge for the Dukes on offense, scoring five times and registering her second game in a row with a hat trick during their win over Virginia Tech. Â
