No. 11 Huskies Take on Seton Hall Wednesday

STORRS, Conn. – The 11th-ranked UConn women's basketball team (19-4, 11-0 BIG EAST) returns to Hartford to host Seton Hall (13-9, 5-6) Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the XL Center. The game will air on SNY and the UConn Sports Network (FOX Sports 97.9).
In partnership with the BIG EAST and the Black Fives Foundation, UConn will have its Black Fives game on Wednesday to honor the history of African Americans in basketball. There will be a special performance of Lift Every Voice & Sing before the national anthem.
Before the game, UConn will honor its senior practice players: Joe Gaffney, Billy Dai, Michael MacKinnon, Dominic Tenn and Hamza Bhura.
The Huskies will also celebrate National Girls & Women in Sports Day vs. Seton Hall.
Head coach Geno Auriemma is currently at 1,199 career wins and can become just the third men's or women's college basketball coach to 1,200.
Senior Aaliyah Edwards had a career performance to lead UConn past St. John's, 78-63, last Sunday. Edwards scored a career-high 33 points and added a season-high 13 rebounds vs. the Red Storm. Redshirt junior Paige Bueckers tallied 26 points, five rebounds and three assists in the win. The Huskies had 34 points in the paint and 24 points off turnovers vs. St. John's.
UConn is 58-10 all-time vs. Seton Hall. The Huskies have won the last 38 meetings between the teams, dating back to January 1994. The Huskies won the first meeting between the teams this season, 83-59, on Jan. 17 in South Orange, N.J. Redshirt junior Paige Bueckers led the Huskies with 32 points.
Seton Hall fell at Villanova, 69-41, last Saturday. This season, Azana Baines leads Seton Hall with 15.4 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. Head coach Anthony Bozzella is in his 11th season at Seton Hall.
