UConn Earns Top Overall Seed In 2024 NCAA Tournament

NEW YORK – In yet another program-first, the UConn men's basketball team (31-3) has earned the top overall seed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament. The Huskies are the No. 1 seed in the East Region and will take on No. 16 seed Stetson on Friday, March 22 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Overall, the Huskies have now earned a No. 1 seed six times in program history, also earning a top seed in 1990, 1996, 1999, 2006 and 2009.
Tip time and network information for UConn's first round game will be announced later tonight.
The Huskies earned the top overall seed after a historic regular season, setting a program-record with 28 wins in the regular season before a perfect 3-0 run at the BIG EAST Tournament. UConn won its 11th BIG EAST regular season championship and eighth BIG EAST Tournament crown this season.
Should Connecticut advance, they would await the winner of 8-seed FAU and 9-seed Northwestern in the Second Round in Brooklyn.
